Zach Tomasovic is a writer and filmmaker who has developed and produced both film and television projects for HBO, AMC+, and The New Yorker, including the 2024 Oscar-nominated film The Barber of Little Rock.
Zach has also developed documentary projects for companies including Hinge and PayPal. His work has been featured in TIME, The Guardian, The Times (UK), The Washington Post, and The New York Times. His documentary Sawyer County, 2020 premiered at the St. Louis International Film Festival, and his documentary pilot Funny Planet was selected as a TruTV Comedy Breakout Finalist.
As a playwright, Zach’s comedic plays include Tribeca, starring Nicholas Braun, Tedra Milan, Busy Phillips, and Julie Halston and produced by Tim Bloom and Miranda Goh in its 2025 commercial development workshop; Trumpus Interruptus: The Impeachment of Donald J Trump, which had a sold-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Sardinia, or The Blue Zone, which is currently in development with the Off-Broadway Rattlestick Theatre; and Bora Bora, which had its first professional workshop at The Barrow Group in 2025.
As a comedian, Zach has performed stand-up at venues including The Hollywood Improv and The Comedy Store. He is a former member of the sketch comedy group Hotel Art Thief, which Vulture called “a reliable source of video fun!”
Zach graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania and currently lives in Brooklyn, New York.
