About
Hi There!
Out of all the websites in all the towns in all the world, you clicked onto mine. So thanks for dropping by.
I was struggling with whether to write this bio in first person or third person, I still don’t know if I’m the right call, but sometimes you’ve gotta commit.
I started my career in comedy – performing standup and improv in places like The Comedy Store, the Hollywood Improv, and the Upright Citizens Brigade. I wrote a satirical play called Trumpus Interruptus: The Impeachment of Donald J Trump, where I played Donald Trump. We had a good run in New York and the UK, and I still find orange paint on shirt collars.
I shot a documentary pilot called ‘Funny Planet’ in Reykjavik, Iceland, where we explored the idea of what each country finds funny. We got the chance to interview Jon Gnarr, the comedian turned mayor of Reykjavik after running for office as a joke. That pilot was a TruTV Comedy Breakout Finalist.
Next came work on an HBO feature documentary, another feature documentary with Story Syndicate, and then a documentary series with AMC+. I owe a lot to the people who gave me the chance to learn the trade and learn how to take ideas from development to distribution.
In the meantime, I was lucky enough to co-direct a documentary called “Sawyer County, 2020” about the 2020 election in a small town in Wisconsin, which premiered at the St. Louis International Film Festival. And last year, I got the chance to film my own short documentary about crafting amaro in the Italian Alps.
